STAR SHOWS

Star Shows form the basis of a grading scheme for mare, stallions and their progeny.

The Society nominates a number of shows a year as Star Shows.  'A' Panel Judges are required to judge Star Shows to ensure the objectives of the scheme are fully met.

Wins by different progeny at a Star Show elevates the mare eventually to Merit or Elite Mare status, and of the stallion to Premium or Super Premium status.

Points are awarded according to placings at Star Shows, to which all members are entitled to exhibit their animals, and accumulate during the year.  Prizes are awarded annually at the AGM for the top Stallion of the year, Mare of the year, Youngster of the year and Sire of the year, and are all hotly contested and much sought after.

Members are notified at the beginning of each year of the Society's nominated Star Shows together with the dates and venues.  Many members plan their showing season around these dates and will travel the length and breadth of the country to compete at them.

A special Star Show rosette, which is much coveted, is awarded to the Champion at each Star Show.
